The idea that a health movement would be holistic in addressing a community’s problems was borne out at the Mud Creek Clinic. It was part of a web of activism locally and regionally, operating as much as a community center in the early years as it did a medical facility. Its staff and the members of the EKWRO soon joined the struggles of other working people and their organizations. Through word and deed they argued for a broad vision of community health rights.
